Gustavo Pacheco Guevara
Gustavo Pacheco holds a BSc in Physics from Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM), where he later pursued his MSc in Medical Physics. In 2021, he graduated with the thesis "Breast glandular tissue volume and volumetric glandular ratio measurement using dual-energy mammography”.
During 2021-2022, he collaborated on a research project with UNAM's Physics Institute and Mexico’s National Cancer Institute, focusing on biomarker quantification in breast images. He contributed to the development, validation, and software implementation of mammographic image quantification methods.
In October 2022, Gustavo joined the Advanced X-ray Tomographic Imaging group of the Medical Imaging department as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Koen Michielsen and Ioannis Sechopoulos. His research focuses on the development of novel breast tomosynthesis acquisition methods for functional breast imaging, aiming to enhance treatment personalization and response monitoring.
